Passport to the World Club℠ Program Farm to Table Cooking Program:
School Year: Youth will travel the world through their tastebuds™ as they participate in virtual cooking classes that introduce them to new cultures, dishes, and flavors. Youth will receive groceries, recipes, cultural & culinary newsletters. They’ll have the option of logging on to Zoom for a live class or follow a recorded cooking class for each class.
Summer: The summer program focuses on introducing children to “eating in season” and learning about the farm to table concept. Children will be introduced to growing their own for self-sufficiency and learn “where food comes from” and “how it’s made”. Each child will receive their very own vegetable & fruit starter gardens, growing bucket, garden tools, garden gloves and educational information. There will be 4-virtual cooking classes that will highlight “what’s in season”; review the History of Farming, Planting your own, virtual farm visit and cooking with locally grown produce. Each class children will receive groceries, recipes and the option of logging on to Zoom for a live class or follow a recorded cooking class for each class.
Together both agencies will work together in proving a positive experience for families.
